Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye and barley. In recent years, there have been many cases of people who are intolerant of this protein found in various foods, causing some allergic symptoms.

Below are some symptoms that may indicate that you are gluten intolerant:

  • Diarrhea or constipation;
  • Dizziness;
  • Excessive tiredness immediately after eating gluten;
  • Excessive gas and stomach pain after eating pasta, bread and other products containing gluten;
  • Irritability;
  • Red spots on the skin;
  • Muscle or joint pain;
  • Migraine;
  • Altered mood.

If you experience any of these symptoms after consuming gluten-based products, you need to take some tests to make an accurate diagnosis. If the result shows that you are indeed gluten intolerant, you need to exclude from your diet all products containing this protein, such as pasta, bread, cakes and wheat-based cookies.

As the number of people who are gluten intolerant has increased, several food companies are already making products that are gluten-free, making it easier to buy a variety of products without this protein, which are made with rice flour, cassava flour, corn flour, cornmeal, etc. There are many products on the market today.

It's also important when you go shopping to look at the labels, as they should contain all the information about the composition of the ingredients so that you can identify with greater certainty whether the product really does not contain gluten.

But if you have consumed a product containing gluten, alkalizing foods can improve your allergy:

  • Quinoa;
  • Vegetables such as broccoli and carrots;
  • Fennel or lemon balm tea, chamomile, green tea, etc;
  • Spices such as ginger, cinnamon, etc;
  • Fruits such as pineapple, grapes, raspberries, etc;
  • Water, coconut water and natural juices without sugar.

 In short, there are many foods that are used to help the body detoxify itself from ingested gluten. But it is important and healthy for those who suffer from gluten intolerance to pay close attention to the consumption of products, having a gluten-free diet so that the body functions well.
