Globalization is the whole process of economic, social, political and cultural integration between nations, constituting a capitalist economy generating different consequences between countries. The expansion of world trade is one of the main elements of globalization, where it proposes commercial exchanges between countries thus obtaining great competition that interferes in the economy. This integration between countries has been much discussed and criticized by some social and intellectual groups, believing that there are several elements that cause disadvantages.
In the view of many critics, globalization expands unevenly, most of the time benefiting the more economically developed regions, which are easily able to expand their information, while in the less developed regions it comes "late" and "inconclusively", causing a delay or lack of information so that they can expand culturally, politically and socially. In all fields, for some critics, globalization generates a lot of disadvantage for less developed countries, generating economic inequality, just cite examples of multinationals and their great expansions, while smaller companies suffer from not being able to compete on an equal footing.
With this unequal competition, the financial field of small and medium-sized companies suffers in order to be able to establish themselves and make large profits and create jobs. Critics also discuss the environmental issue, which is another factor that has been hit hard by globalization, because when demand increases, so does supply and from this the pace of consumerism skyrockets and contributes to an increase in the use of natural resources, resulting in a loss of quality of life.
As I said, there are many movements all over the planet that call themselves "anti-globalization", where they present critical aspects of globalization. On the other hand, there are those who believe that globalization is responsible for the world's great achievements, such as technological advances in the means of transport where they are faster and more intelligent, contributing to the speed with which the user arrives at the given location and also being safer, and in the means of communication where news through the use of great technologies reaches the whole world faster, overcoming great barriers.
Another factor considered by those who defend globalization is the possibility of many products having their prices reduced, due to the possibility of having a great integration of world politics, such as the Economic Blocs (unions between countries aimed at economic development among the associated members) that make many products cheaper and with great production so that they can be consumed all over the planet. For those who believe that globalization generates numerous advantages for the countries involved, science is another factor that has expanded its studies and discoveries very significantly for all of humanity.
We will still hear a lot about globalization, but the important thing in this matter is the knowledge we will have to acquire so that we can better understand the subject and thus highlight our point of view on whether or not to accept it.
Studying is always valid for everything in our lives, so always practice the search for knowledge!
