The dollar, which is the currency of the United States and also the most widely used currency in the world, is used in many countries around the world because of its importance in the economy. Since it is one of the main currencies, its value tends to change suddenly for various reasons, which can be seen in the various news reports on the dollar's fluctuations. The main reasons for this are supply and demand and interest rates.

The difference between the two types of dollar

To understand the variation of the dollar, you first need to know the two types that are traded in Brazil:

Commercial Dollar:

This is the dollar currency that is traded by the major influences in the market, i.e. Companies and some Institutions. It is usually worth less than the other type of dollar, which is the tourist dollar. It is usually used for large sums

Tourist Dollar:

This is the dollar currency used by individuals, making trips and buying products abroad. It tends to be more expensive due to the volume of transactions, which is greater in terms of the number of people compared to companies using the dollar.

And what makes the price of the dollar fluctuate?

The supply and demand of these types of dollars is what influences their value, i.e. the rate(price) rises in line with the increase in the number of people buying the dollar. So a high dollar means that many people are using the dollar and turning the economy of the United States and the world on its head.

What does this variation cause?

Affecting almost everyone, it plays a big role for tourists, with the increased price of tickets and almost everything abroad. It can also affect the day-to-day life of the consumer, because of the industries that import products and this can cause a variation in the final price of the product and then have an effect on the consumer's pocket.
