Stop for a moment and think: Do you feel that you have friends and that you can be a good friend? How do you get that answer? Does always being surrounded by people mean being liked and loved? Ask yourself, if for any reason you need someone to listen to you, support you or even give you constructive criticism, you will have that person by your side, even if it's at a distance. Do you feel that you are valued for who you are or for what you have?
I once heard someone say that every time she had a difficulty or problem in her life, people turned away from her, and that's when I asked myself: What is the real value we have for others? At what point do we have to ask ourselves what we can be for others in turn? Do you know how to be a good friend? Do you give of your heart and soul? It may be that sometimes we only expect this self-giving, complicity and love from others.
For me, friendship comes before any kind of relationship, because this feeling accompanies us throughout our lives, in our construction as a person, as a being. I believe that in any relationship the main factor is friendship, whether in the family, at work, at school, among many others, admiration, respect, appreciation, giving, are feelings that are fundamental in a friendship. We must understand that imposing someone's friendship is not the right thing to do, feelings must be natural and true, we must not impose anything, any feeling must be free.
We know that we are unique and that no one should be compared to the other. Know how to respect the other person's space and make it clear that you also want respect, but don't impose anything on someone, leave the other person free to choose whether they want to be in your life. Before you want to have friends, know how to be a friend, especially to yourself, because by loving, valuing and respecting yourself you will understand what you want from the other person to be your friend.
