Windows, Microsoft's long-established operating system, is always updated to a new version from time to time, the most recent being Windows 11. At the end of 2016, Windows had a function for free upgrades to the next version, but this was officially terminated in the same year. Even so, tests show that this function seems to be valid even today, 6 years later.

How to Download Windows:

To perform this function, you must first have official use of any of the previous versions of the Windows Operating System, i.e. have an official license for systems such as Windows 7, Windows 8.1, etc. It is also important to remember to always back up your computer's important files and data on some type of media that stores data such as Pendrive, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.

So to update your Windows system to the latest updates, check out the steps below:

• Go to the Windows 10 download page and click on "Download the tool now";
• Download, open the Media Creation Tool and select "Update this PC now", making sure to accept the terms and conditions;
• Select the update option in which your files and information will be kept, as the alternative of a new installation via the Media Creation Tool may not update for free;
• Once the installation is complete, connect your computer or virtual machine to the internet, open Windows Update and click on "Activation";
• Then click "Activate" if necessary and your device will be activated with a digital license after connecting to Microsoft's servers.

If you have any problems obtaining your free license, enter your key from your previous version of Windows and activate your Operating System manually.
