Digital inclusion aims to bring all senior citizens, those with intellectual or audiovisual disabilities, motor disabilities or those with lower purchasing power into the digital world, ensuring that everyone can participate and also contribute to everyone benefiting. And what are the benefits of digital inclusion? The benefits are many, because if everyone had access to digital knowledge, more job opportunities would arise, productivity would be higher and poverty would be significantly reduced, because everyone would be able to work.
When you have the knowledge, new opportunities arise and you are able to carry out work that was not possible before and also help other people who need this knowledge. Each person is included according to their needs or difficulties and in this way their development is more productive. Digital inclusion is not just about knowing how to use a computer, a social network or exchanging e-mails, it goes beyond that, because it uses technology in order to improve your living conditions.
When you're not in the digital environment, you have trouble finding information, because nowadays almost all the services you need to use are digital, where you can get information in just one click. A good example of what I'm talking about are the services for issuing documents and banking transactions, which are digital in order to be faster and also make our busy lives easier.
By being familiar with the numerous information technologies, a person can benefit from using many services, thus expanding their knowledge and gaining time to do more things. Technology is a tool that has come to contribute to our development and help us with many tasks and commitments, whether domestic or professional, but we must use it correctly and for this reason it is important to raise awareness of its importance and respect its limits.
How to achieve digital inclusion?
Only with a good technological, professional and educational structure will digital inclusion be successful.
