How to install Linux/Ubuntu

Linux is an open source operating system, which means that it can be freely modified. There are many variants of Linux systems, and one of them is Ubuntu, which is one of the most famous. Ubuntu is famous for being a pleasant and very easy-to-use system, even though it has its more advanced forms of use, conquering from the most advanced users to the simplest. Because of this, many different types of user may want this system, either because it's easy or because they're tired of Windows, largely due to the fact that it's a lightweight system that even the oldest computers can run.

System requirements (recommendations):

  • 25 GB of free storage space(Minimum);
  • 4 GB RAM;
  • Pendrive, CD or DVD of at least 8 or 12 GB

How to install Ubuntu:

  • Go to the Ubuntu website, or your desired distro (Linux variations), go to downloads and download the most up-to-date version. Also, if you're a newer user who doesn't want to have to do a lot of work even after installing the system, use the LTS (long-term support) version which has fewer updates and longer support while also being more stable.
  • Create a bootable USB stick with your ISO file or even a CD or DVD. This process can be done with various types of support programs, such as balenaEtcher, which is recommended by Ubuntu itself and is compatible with various types of systems.
  • Insert your USB stick, CD or DVD into your computer and restart it. Then follow the steps for the system settings, i.e. setting your keyboard, the language of your computer, correcting your time zone and so on. Complete the installation carefully, reading the buttons before you click to prevent further fatigue from incorrect settings.
