04/23/2025 ● Adelil de Mello
Recently QR codes have been appearing more and more in our lives, because they have almost infinite uses, whether it's to share your Wi-Fi password or even to share links or pay for something. Because of this, many people don't know how to use these labyrinth-like squares, so follow the steps to scan these codes that are so present on smartphones.
But what is a QR CODE?
QR is short for Quick Responde, which means Quick Response. These codes are used to transmit media information to your smartphone. They are two-dimensional barcodes that allow you to encode more than 4000 characters in one barcode. These codes can be used to display certain text to the user, open a URL, save a contact or compose a message.
To read these types of codes on your device, you need to use an application installed on your device or system tools, so follow the steps below to find out how to scan these types of codes.

How to read a QR CODE on Android
Unlike Apple's Iphones which have this feature, only certain types of Android devices have this QR Code scanning feature, i.e. not all of the brand's phones have this feature, so you need to download an external application or other ways: One of these ways is by using external applications, such as Bixby, QR Code Reader, Samsung Optical Reader and several others that can be used on your device. Each of these apps is different, but both have the same function: scanning the QR code. So, in any of them you'll be taken to your device's camera, position the QR Code at a sufficient distance and angle for the image to be visible and in focus, holding your phone steady until the app identifies the Code.
Then, when the code is understood, a pop-up option will appear and there will be various options such as download, open, etc. Choose the option you want and only do so if you believe the QR Code is safe.
