Multiculturalism is a social movement that seeks to value the cultural diversity of a region, city or country. It opposes all types of prejudice and supports all types of cultures that have been built up throughout history, thus strengthening society as a whole so that its values and cultural differences can be respected. In politics, multiculturalism can be present in groups such as women, Indians and blacks who demand their rights as citizens. Multiculturalism emerged in the United States with the main objective of fighting for the civil rights of groups excluded because they didn't belong to a culture and social class that was considered superior at the time.

Aspects of multiculturalism
Multiculturalist countries, such as Brazil, have indigenous peoples, Africans and Europeans as the first people to act in the cultural formation of the country, where many of the values and traditions of the Brazilian people have been inherited from these peoples. It's important to know and understand that we need to live with others and when we recognize and respect the cultural and social identities of others, dialogue and coexistence is certainly very positive for everyone involved. Interacting is necessary for the development of every society so that it can develop harmoniously, always respecting the space and differences of others.
The main concept of multiculturalism is that there are no superior customs, habits or cultures, because it believes in cultural diversity without superiority or inferiority. Respecting differences is an essential practice in the formation of values that each individual needs to have in order to form a fairer and happier society. Recognizing cultural diversity in our society, such as ethnic, social and religious groups with their traditions and values, is valuing the wealth that makes us so great.
