Have you ever been bullied?

Bullying is psychological and physical violence that is practiced intentionally and repeatedly and can occur in any type of environment, such as at school, at work and elsewhere.People who suffer this type of aggression break away from the pattern of those who don't accept differences, and through insults, nicknames, bullying, teasing, physical aggression can occur, wounding and hurting them deeply.

What causes bullying?

The reinforcement of identity within a certain group and also the search for high popularity is the main cause of bullying. There may be cases in which the bully suffers or has suffered bullying and out of anger starts practicing the same discriminatory act against those he believes to be different from him.

It's important that parents or guardians advise their children from an early age to accept and respect other people as they are, without teasing or discriminating against them, and if they feel that they are being bullied, to immediately inform them so that they can take the appropriate action, such as, if the act is carried out inside a school, informing the school's management, and if it's outside the school, contacting the bully's parents so that both can resolve the issue in the best possible way.

When parents have a good dialog with their children, they allow them to express their feelings and if they notice that something is not normal, it's time to intervene and try to resolve the situation. When cases of bullying are noticed from the outset, either by the aggressor or the victim, the chance of finding a solution is greater.

There are many campaigns around the world that promote guidance and training actions for parents or guardians and also for all the staff of institutions, such as lectures given by specialists such as psychologists. According to experts, bullying can lead to depression and there are also cases in which suicide attempts have been made by those who suffer from bullying.

We must understand that bullying is a very serious issue and that we must take a more precise look at both those who suffer from it and those who perpetrate it. Bullying can occur within a school, on the streets, in the family or at work, and it's always good to be vigilant and if you suffer any kind of bullying, don't keep quiet, seek help and report it to the appropriate bodies.

Never keep quiet or isolate yourself, be strong and know that depending on the case, the bully may need help.
