With the exaggerated increase in consumerism, people's lives are directly affected in countless ways, such as in the family, at work, financially, and the greatest damage caused is to the emotional side of the person, simply because they want to acquire as many things as possible, the vast majority of which they may not even need, but are unable to let go of.

Excess in all areas is never good, because it's harmful to your emotional and why not spiritual state. Understand that happiness isn't found in material things, so sometimes you have to stop for a while to look at your life and see what's happening to it.

Ask yourself :

  • What am I doing with my life?
  • Why do I need to consume a lot of things unnecessarily?
  • Why do I keep accumulating everything?
  • Why can't I let go of material things?

You need to stop and look closely inside yourself and understand how much your attachment to material things can cause you suffering. Perhaps at a certain time in your life you feel a deep emptiness and you understand that having things will fill that emptiness.If you can't see the exaggerated attachment to things on your own, perhaps you need a medical professional to help you in the best possible way to do a detox of the unnecessary things in your life, weighing up reason and emotion.

Here are some tips on how to let go of things.

  • Separate the things you have into categories, such as clothes, kitchen utensils, electronics, furniture, in short, everything you have in your home;
  • Classify things as what you use the most and what you didn't even know existed because it's been stored away for so long;
  • Evaluate how much sense an object makes in your life and whether it would be much more relevant to give it away or discard it;
  • Unusable objects can be discarded because they will be of no use to anyone;
  • The objects you've separated, like the ones you didn't even know were there, are certainly not used by you, but they could be useful to other people, so donate them without any attachment, you'll be helping someone and that's generosity, so your detachment is enriching
