03/01/2025 ● Adelil de Mello
Taking a screenshot of your computer screen can often be useful for a number of different reasons, such as sharing or recording information. Many computers have features like this built into them natively, meaning they can be accessed without downloading anything, but many other computers don't either. So we've prepared 5 different ways to take a print/capture of your PC screen below:
Applications
You can use applications downloaded from the internet to take this print/capture, and many of them are free, such as: ShareX, Screennink, Snagit. Each one has different and specific features that will differentiate this resource, but they all have in common the facilitation of capturing and sharing these photos.
Capture Tool
Newer windows have a program called "Capture Tool" integrated into them, which has the function of cutting out a specific part of your screen and then taking a photo of that part, in addition to various other functions such as drawing, delaying the time of the photo, etc. To open this tool is simple, open the "Start" menu that has the Windows icon, which is 4 windows, and then search for the name of the tool, click and then take advantage of the various features that this tool offers.
Print Screen
The print screen is a button that many devices offer and that copies the entire photo of your screen to the clipboard, meaning that you will need some tool to paste this image and then save it, such as Paint, Photoshop, and many others.
Windows + Shift + S
This is a well-known shortcut for capturing a specific part of the screen. When you press the "Windows + Shift + S" key combination simultaneously, a small window will appear at the top of your screen, offering you some options for taking a screenshot.
Xbox Game Bar
On newer Windows systems there is a tool called the "Xbox Game Bar" which offers various options, one of which is to record or even take a printout of your screen. It may seem like it, but you don't need to have any kind of game or Xbox, because it's now a native feature of Windows systems. To open this feature, just use the "Windows + G" key combination simultaneously.
