Wars have existed for as long as the world has existed. Throughout our history there have always been armed conflicts for different reasons, such as religious disagreements, territorial disputes, political interests and others. There are those who believe that in order to guarantee the survival of a people, social, cultural and economic issues lead to a huge conflict that can last for years and years.
A feeling of hatred, power, destruction and control, they don't care about the damage they cause to an entire people. Much has been studied about the reason for this behavior due to the power that many world leaders have.According to Sigmund Freud (creator of the Theory of the Human Psyche), the growth of groups in society happened by maintaining the imbalance of forces, such as between parents and children, men and women, masters and slaves.
The powerful place themselves above the law, while the people seek equality and justice. Wars are not won to honor a people, a nation, but to further favor the powerful in their domination of their people. Winning or losing, there are human and material losses, as well as serious physical and mental health problems.
But how do you stop a war?
Dialogue is always the way out. International humanitarian law stipulates what can and cannot be done during an armed conflict. The Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols are the essence of this set of rules, setting limits, offering protection to civilians, but it is humanly impossible for civilians not to be affected.
Consequences of war
A destroyed, starving and sick people, many of whom leave their country and immigrate to other countries seeking asylum, often leaving behind an entire family, a history. Those who remain in their country after a war are faced with ruins, entire cities destroyed and in need of help to rebuild everything that took years to do.
Will wars ever end?
It would be ideal, but as long as the man who thinks he is powerful, above good and evil, doesn't realize that being open to dialogue won't be the solution, we will still see many armed conflicts and a lot of unnecessary destruction.
